Sending Good Thoughts


We send cards for many reasons but always to let the recipient know we're thinking of them, be it a happy or sad occasion.

This past week I needed to send a sympathy card and a celebratory birthday card.

I like to keep sympathy cards simple. Sometimes I don't stamp a sentiment, just a written message instead. This card was, as you can see, extremely simple. Not that the kind thoughts were any less.

The base card is basic white with a layer of sahara sand which is topped with more white. 

The leaves, cut from sahara sand (Artistic Dies) with a sentiment stamped to match. The sentiment is one included in the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

I don't know the name of the fun fold I used for the birthday card. In my photo I hadn't yet added the number of the BIG birthday. After all, it's rude to disclose the lady's age.

Here are some images of the front of the card. I found it difficult to take a good photo illustrating how it stands. At the end is a birds eye view so that you see how the front and back panels are attached to a mini 'tower'






The base card is blackberry bliss. One end is made into a tower with another decorated panel on top. The stunning DSP is from the Blackberry Beauty DSP pack. The owl is one of two in the coordinating Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack. Purples aren't usually my colour palette but I do find this DSP particularly striking!
