Chop Up That DSP!

With our monthly Just For Fun class imminent I knew I wanted to showcase the pretty free Saleabration Botanical Butterfly DSP. I felt that, as whole sheets, the pack wasn't really 'Me' but that it would be transformed once cut into smaller pieces. We tend to hoard pretty paper and try not to cut into it. By cutting into the sheets in this pack, along with using the reverse of some sheets to showcase the black and white monochrome, this pack of DSP is so much more usable. Add to that the fact that the Butterfly Duet punch perfectly matched some of the images and my cards were starting to take shape.
Having said all this, my first card doesn't have any DSP!
Our first card has a thick whisper white base card with a layer of basic grey, topped with another white layer,
Using smoky slate and a stamp from Artisan Textures we stated to create a background. Using a second stamp from the same set an Frost White Shimmer Paint, we stamped around the edges of the first stamp.
Now a black stamped sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set
We then punched a butterfly from the DSP, adding more Shimmer paint. this was attached with a Stampin' Dimensional.

The second card is a little more formal looking. The same pack of DSP, this time with a couple of pieces of Black and Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon. The butterfly is mounted on a piece of Window Sheet which has been die cut wit one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

And the inside...

On our next card we injected a little colour with a cople of Stampin' Blends and a silver element by die cutting with a die from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits and Silver Foil card.

For our fourth card I chose the lemon lime twist ribbon from the Saleabration
Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. Such a shame that stocks of this pretty ribbon were depleted so quickly - though I'm not surprised that everyone wanted it! When the ladies made their cards they were given a choice of colour.

Here are a few of the cards made by the class ladies and some photos from one of the groups showing them having crafty fun!...

I love getting together with my class ladies, their enthusiasm is infectious and we have such fun!
