Darling Donkeys!

I'm not normally one for cute cards but I just love the donkeys in the Darling Donkeys stamp set available during Saleabration (until the end of February choose from a selection of products FREE with every £45 order, not including p+p). In fact, the sitting donkey is just SO sweet that I decided to use the set for this months classes and am sharing the cards with you today.

For our first card we used the stamps along with the Best Plaid Builder dies in gray granite and rich razzleberry. I love that each donkey appears to be popping his head out to greet you. Each donkey is secured behind the razzleberry grid with his head (they always seem to be 'he') raised on a stampin' dimensional.

Our second card front has a white frame which is created using the Stitched Nested Label Dies and is raised on Foam Adhesive Strips. The centre of the die cut has been coloured using a blending brush with balmy blue ink and is glued flat to the card front.

The hills are die cut from pear pizzazz carstock with a die from the Curvy Dies set with grass stamped using a stamp from Field of Flowers. The hills are stuck the the reverse of the white frame. Finally, the donkey has been coloured and fixed to the front.

The background on my next card was inspired by a card from Mayras Designs, although her card is completely different.

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to emboss the petal pink card, inked around each embossed circle with petal pink ink before layering with a piece of vellum and gray granite ribbon, then a petal pink circle on top of a gray granite scalloped circle (Layering Cicle Dies ).

That sweet, adorable sitting donkey finishes the card.

Our last card was a little more straightforward.  Each of the class attendees would have received supplies for this card in one of three colours - purple posy, rococo rose or terracotta tile. All with coordinating card base and patterned paper (DSP). My card is in terracotta tile.

The donkeys on all the cards have been stamped in Memento black ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends - light gray granite, light crumb cake, light petal pink, light smoky slate, ivory. I am leaving the sentiments until I know who I am sending the card to, then I'll select something appropriate.

I really enjoyed making this set of cards to share with the ladies and they seemed to enjoy crafting their cards too! I'm looking forward to sharing more creativity with them next month, you will have to wait and see what I have in store!

If you'd like to see any of the products I used for these cards then click on the appropriate image below. You will be able to view and, if you wish, purchase them online.

Saleabration ends on 28th February or while stock lasts, so if you want to get those darling donkeys or any of the other SAB items you will need to place your order soon!

Happy crafting!

Lesley
