Epic Celebrations

A short post today - I wanted to share with you a card I made this past week for my youngest sons birthday.
Again I chose to make a shutter fold card. I do love this fun fold. It’s also very apt in a couple of ways - firstly because my son enjoys photography and the fold inside looks like a camera shutter, secondly because the stamp I used is a trainer/running shoe and my son, Ant, always seems to be buying running shoes! To be fair, he does run in half marathons so he does have a good excuse!
So, I got to make a card in a style that I enjoy making plus the added bonus of using Brushos on it. I’ll go into more detail about the brushos in another post but, suffice today that I used them to create a background for the stamped, embossed images.
Here is the card, looks like a gate fold from the outside.

As you can see, I hand stitched white bakers twine through the shoe on the 'topper' to represent laces.
Below you can view a little video from my YouTube channel which shows the inside of the card and how the shutter opens when you open the card itself.

I intend to follow this up over the next couple of weeks with a video illustrating how I made the background.
I hope you've enjoyed stopping by today and get the chance to craft a little...or a lot (!) this weekend.
