Beautiful Dozen

Since first spotting the stamp set 'Beautiful You' at our Onstage event in November, demonstrators had a hunch that this set was going to be popular. In fact there are dozens of samples all over social media and the internet on a daily basis.
Last week I held my own 'Beautiful You' class. I made 4 sets of cards, the ladies made one from each set, taking home enough supplies to finish creating the complete dozen. Below are the cards all on one small board...
The first 3 are paper pieced using Urban District DSP. Now, paper piecing has been around for a very long time but was recently been a popular for this stamp set after the lovely Linda Kasparian created a card using it.
The second 3 are stamped onto crumb cake note cards. To enable us to use and show off bright colours, we first applied a layer of white to the images, using either white craft ink and a blender pen or one of our new watercolour pencils in white. Colour pencil or ink was then layered on top and blended. This can be done with a water brush or blender pen.
The third set of 3 are made using the 'smoosh' techniques which has become very popular from a video made by my super friend and team mate, Kim Fee. I've 'smoohsed' one of these far better than the other two, No matter, they make for different results.
The final set of 3 are simple, stamped white note cards which look as if they've been coloured with a pen squiggle. In fact, the squiggle is one of two abstract stamps in the set which also comprises 3 lady images and 8 sentiments which cover a few different occasions.

In all, 13 stamps in the set all for £25 clear mount/£35 wood mount, that's great value!

I do hope you've had a bit of inspiration during your visit today. Have a good weekend!
