Last month we used the Simply Fabulous stamp set for our Just for Fun classes. I like that it's a modern looking set and found it fun to use.
We made four different cards and today I'd like to share them with you.
I guess I should be a little wary of sharing our first card. My stamping was far from perfect, done late at night. But with very little spare time, I just had to remind myself that it was a sample card and for that reason, you'll find the photos below.
It's a magic card. Rather like those magic wallets you see where a note is in it one minute, you refold the wallet and the note is no longer there. I found the design by Claire Ottaway (Created the Ottaway). The stamp set rather lends itself to this card as there are plenty of sentiments and smaller images. Here is the front of the card...
As you can very clearly see, the leaves are rather patchy looking. If you gently pull the front and back of the card as you open it, you will see this inside...
Doesn't it look so very cheerful, striking and bright, stamped in three of our 5 new In Colours. The base card is also an In Colour, called Starry Sky.
Close the card again, this time gently open it from the centre and this is what you see...
Isn't that just so clever! This may well turn out to be one of my favourite card folds. Thank you Miss Scrap!
Our second card is also in a shade from the new In Colours - Tahitian Tide, a beautiful shade of turquoise. Here we have embossed the flowers in gold.
We created a shadow on our sentiment by stamping and embossing in gold then repeating in white embossing, with the sentiment shifted to one side a little. This gives the impression of a shadow. I love the way the sentiment looks almost 'worn'. The embellishments are retired and are from my SU stash.
A completely different look on our third card. The base is yet another new In Colour - Orchid Oasis. Sticking with these In Colours, we 'smooshed' ink to create a background wash on watercolour paper.
Our final card is, again, different to the others. Continuing with our in Colours, the leaves are in Parakeet Party. The DSP is retired but has been die cut with a current die - Dots and Spots -
The leaves are all fussy cut.... I do wish I'd used the other leaf stamp in the set which is more angular and which I would find easier to cut!
A list of current products used is shown further down this post, should you wish more information or to purchase - simply click on them.
As I said at the very beginning, I found this stamp set fun to use. So much so, that you'll find us using it for next months classes!
I hope you've enjoyed today's cards. If so, pop a little comment in the comments section.
Happy crafting!
