Timeless Tropical Birthday

Today's card is CASED from one by Cathy from Sugar Shack Designs. I saw her card and loved it, so CASE'ing was a must! Plus, this needed to go into the mail PRONTO! So I didn't have hours to mull over a design.
The images are from the Timesless Tropical stamp set. Something drew me to the set the moment that I spotted it in the annual catalogue. I think it reminds me of two memorable holidays in Bora Bora and Hawaii. For all that, I've not really used it so my card was the perfect start.

The stamps do have coordinating dies too...such a time saver!
So, here is my card -

The original by Cathy has tropical leaves on it whereas I've chosen to use the palm trees, She used the subtles embossing folder - mine is a retired basketweave one, also hers favours slightly softer shades but the colour combo is the same.

The background has been smooshed - I pressed an ink pad onto a smooth surface, sprayed with a little water the lifted the ink with a piece of cellophane and pressed it onto white cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment prior to running it through an embossing folder.
The flowers have been stamped in Versamark and heat emboosed with white embossing powder then painted with an aquapainter brush and ink. The trees are stamped then die cut.
Once assembled, I added a splatter of Wink of Stella and 3 Elegant Faceted Gems to finish the card. You can probably spot them in the close up below..

I got the card into the mail fairly quickly and mailed it abroad with tracking. The rough timeline is said to be 3-5 days for delivery.  It's still in transit and this is day 7 so I'm not over hopeful. This also means that I can't yet share this card on my instagram as the recipient has yet to receive it. Grrr!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing it. The list of main products used is below, should you wish to view any of them more clearly.

When you are time poor or short on ideas then why not CASE a card you like. If you post it online then do be sure to share the name of the person who created the original to give them credit.

Have a good week
