Free As A Bird

Today’s card is one I made for my daughter in law's birthday. I decided on the design having seen a fabulous card by Jackie Jasper.

The base card is thick basic white onto which I stamped an image with Versamark then added gilded leafing with heat and stick powder.

The stamp is from the Free As A Bird stamp set but because my Versamark is in need of reinking, the image stamped patchy. I really liked the effect that gave. Over this I added Pool Party with a blending brush. The brush had previously been used with a green ink, this gave a unique colour mix of its own. The birds and branch image has been stamped onto basic white then coloured with various Stampin’ Blends. The top part was fussy cut, a sentiment added and then attached to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hopefully you can see the gilded leafing in the close up below ...

I was very happy with the end result…… until I smudged ink from my thumb as I was writing in it!

So my card became a smaller card and I made a coordinating envelope for it from my stash of DSP.

I guess all’s well that ends well!

Sadly my photos are a little dark but the finished card was really quite delicate looking.

Make something pretty today!
