A few of my friends have their birthday in the same month as me. My friend, Kim, had seen a card I made here which she liked so I thought I’d make another one for her birthday, changing the colours to those that she prefers. I’m a ‘blue girl’ whereas she like yellow and grey.

Below is the card I sent....
I used pigment sprinkles and water the create bursts of colour on whisper white card.
I then stamped and heat embossed the large poppy head (from the Painted Poppies stamp set) in a wreath shape. After fussy cutting I mounted the wreath onto a piece of smoky slate card which had been embossed. This was then mounted onto crushed curry card, basic black card and to a thick whisper white card base. The whole piece is finished with stamped embossed ‘Happy Birthday’ and a die cut ‘Celebrate’ (die retired).
Not my normal colour choice but I'm so happy with the finished card. I loved the bright, zingy flowers on the duller background. They really seem to ‘pop’!
If you’d like to create a similar wreath effect then check out the product list below. Want to view the product online? Click on the one you're interested in for more information,
I hope you’re getting some time to craft this weekend

Great photo! I can see why the card was inspired.
