You may have arrived here having hopped around Katie's blog and viewing her crafty creations, or simply stopped by. Either way, it's good to have you visit!
My first card showcases one of our new In Colours, Peekaboo Peach. Now, in all honesty, I took one look at his colour and my heart sank... like a stone! Then I saw some super cards where the peach had been teamed with navy and I decided to give it a chance - even bought the matching ribbon!
A Z-Fold card, rather than using DSP mounted on the cardstock, I created the background using a stamp from Playful Backgrounds and peach ink on vanilla card. The cute little creatures are from one of our new hostess stamp sets, Love You Lots. Finished off with our lush new ruched ribbon. Not the usual type of stamp I go for but I really like it! Good thing really since I'd made it for a friend's birthday, though not sure if it's her sort of thing or not.
My next card is from another new Hostess set, Pun Intended. I'm really quite fond of this card so hope you like it too! Despite the dreadful photo.
I used the sun stamp from a carry over set, Kinda Eclectic, then added the light bulb stamp from Pun Intended. I also stamped the light bulb onto window sheet and stuck that on top to give the impression of glass, shame that you can't see that on the photo as, when any light shines on it the image really looks like a bulb. I die cut the stamped images in a circle, made a stand for my 'globe' using circle dies and an old punch. This was all mounted onto shimmer card stock that had been splattered with gold wink of stella, then attached to a tip top taupe base card. The sentiment was edged in copper embossing powder.
As I said, I really do like this card, it's just a tad different.
My third project is another card from the same Pun Intended stamp set.
The base card has been folded and cut using oval dies. I've had to use a retired die set as the new catalogue ones weren't available on pre order. I scored lines across to give the effect of a beehive and also cut a part oval entrance. I cut the same size piece in black which is stuck in the aperture onto the inside of the card. This gave me a little 'doorway'. The bees are stamped, coloured and hand cut, along with the sentiment. There wings are also give a brush with wink of stella.
My last card is part of a little set really. I made it for another friends birthday. Here I've used the Pop of Paradise stamp set. I spotted this set when I first got my hands on the catalogue, my heart fluttered and it became no.1 on my
LOVING this stamp set! The new Flirty Flamingo In Colour is super with black and white alongside the new copper embossing powder. The pink certainly POP's! Flamingo's and pineapples are so on trend this season.
At our recent Onstage event we saw our CEO using a homemade paste to stamp cupcake frosting. I used the same recipe to stamp the flamingo, which gives it a little texture, then hand cut it out.
To go with the card I stamped a little muslin bag (got a horrid feeling these are no longer in the catalogue - glum face!!, but I'm sharing as my card is the main project here and this is just a little accessory) and made a matching tag. Spot the luscious new flirty flamingo ruched ribbon too!
Inside the bag I popped a little gift of flamingo lip balm.
I do hope you've enjoyed your visit today and leave with some inspiration and full of excitement for our new catalogue.
