Stampin' Creative Blog Hop Summer Lovin'

Wow! Time seems to have come round quickly again!
You may have just stopped by here or may have arrived via Stampin' Delight - Louise's fab blog (just click on her name if you need to go back there). Either way - welcome!
Sometimes we get a little sneak peak of what others in the team have made but not this month, although I've no doubt that she filled you with inspiration!
The theme this month is Summer Lovin'.
My mind was blank...totally blank! So, I decided to think about what we liked to do during the summer holidays when the children were small, and apart from parks, the beach... they loved our visit to the Seaquarium. This allowed me to try out the project that's been in my head for the last 2 months. I wanted to use the hamburger box die to make an aquarium!
Still unopened, in it's packet, when it's made up that die cut is sooo diddy!
I've now made my aquarium and am now struggling to take a photo of it! I had to line inside the base with white card so that you could see the images. Here it is...
Turtle Love
Here you can see the top and front quite clearly. I had to remove the centre of the top and side panels and line the space with window sheets. Below are photos of each of the 4 sides...

As soon as I spotted the turtle in the From Land To Sea stamp set I knew I had to have the set as it brings back memories of standing in the water watching them, only 6 feet away, when we were in Hawaii.
I'm quite pleased with the finished result, it did take some working on though! I didn't have any isopropyl to add to my reinkers so thought I'd use some other alcohol - vodka. The first bottle I came upon was whipped cream vodka so my card stock smells like cream soda!
After all that I needed to use the other turtle I'd stamped, so made this card..
The turtle is stamped on acetate/window sheet (and fixed in a space where I removed some cardstock on the front of the card) and another turtle, stamped on card, cut out and coloured is fixed inside the card directly behind the acetate one. It's not easy to take a photo of the card standing and get a clear image but this will give you an idea...
The word 'happy' is cut from copper snail tape which has been stuck onto card before cutting, the copper tag is a plant tag, the wire came with it.  The Washi Tape is a retired one but we've lots of others to choose from, the coral stamp is from By The Tide.
My final project is one of the cards my I made for my ladies when they came this week to my Cuppa, Cake & Card afternoons. The melon mambo 'sings' summer to me and you can hear those birds cheeping away in the sun. Stamps are World of Dreams.

It's a shame that I took the photo in the evening shade, perhaps I can replace it with a better one later.

    WOW Lesley … I absolutely love the mini aquarium. What a work of art that is and so very very beautiful. I can just imagine it sat with a gentle light shining through it. Mmmmm and smelling of Cream Soda too :) I love it. Beautiful projects that also remind me of many visits to the Sealife Centre in Brighton as a kid x

    Love the mini aquarium - but can't see the toothpaste jelly fish!!
