Good morning!
It's Blog Hop time again!
You may have hopped here from Pip's super blog, which will, I'm sure, have left you inspired. Or you may have simply stopped by. Welcome! This month the theme is gift packaging. Bearing in mind that it is the thought that counts when giving gifts, I've focused on the smaller, perhaps homemade, gifts and have 2 quick ideas for you.
I've seen lots of 'cake slices made' from out Cutie Pie thinlet box die. Some almost look edible! The box is perfect for a smaller gift. Anything from a table treat, a few sweets to a piece of jewellery. Here I've taken it and given it a Christmas twist...
The 'trunk' is a simple cotton reel covered with soft suede card. The bauble decorations are from a retired punch but small circles would do the job just as well. They've had a touch of Crystal Effects added to give them dimension.
My second project is a quick bit of packaging, all made so easy to co-ordinate using Stampin' Up! products - a brownie jar.
The contents are all that is needed to make delicious brownies apart from fresh ingredients such as eggs. Attached is the recipe.
The lid is covered with Wonderland Vellum, the DSP around the jar is vellum too. Stamp is 'Cup of Cheer'.
Yes, I know, this is an idea that is both simple and been done many times before but why do we always think we have to go for difficult and time consuming when the finished treat would be a welcome supplement to the teatime table on Boxing Day.
Finally - the one that got away....and thank goodness it did. Here's the flop for the day.
As you can see, the ink ran everywhere, much further than you can see in this photo. I was covered in it, so was everything else! So, there you go. A couple of fast ideas and a 'what not to do'!Hop on now for inspiration (and no flops!) from Eimear. Click on her name.At the foot of today's post there is a complete list of blogs participating, in case you want to jump somewhere - just click on whichever one you want. This is followed by a supplies listThanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.

Hello everyone! You may have noticed that I missed this months Stampin' Creative Blog Hop - Sneak Peek. Unfortunately, I hadn't done my pre-order early enough to enable me to take part. Yes, you read that correctly - pre-order, part of a demonstrators perks - get catalogue and goodies waaaaay before everyone else! The team had already decided that this hop was to be slightly different, we'd all create enough of our particular project to be able to swap. This gives us 9 different projects to show you. Despite not getting my goodies ordered on time, I still completed the swap projects...without leaving any supplies to make myself one! Duh! But, I did take photos to show you. Here they are, ready to mail. By the way, there are soooo many new products that I've put * beside each to indicate they appear in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue...This is my project, I pretty pleased with it - a holiday book...
The stamp on the front says 'Soon it will be Christmas day' and is from one of the stamp sets - Cup of Cheer*. The cover is Winter Wonderland vellum* and edged with gold glitter ribbon (comes in a pack of 2)*.
The numbers are our Little Numbers thinlets cut from Gold Glimmer cardstock.
The inside of each book varied slightly but all were covered in one of our latest DSP - Winter Wonderland*, more stamps from both the Wonderland* and Cup of Cheer stamp sets*. The gold circles on both sides are tags inserted into the pockets, embellished with vellum.
The centre pages are whisper white card stamped with the trees from the Wonderland stamp set*, edged in Winter Wonderland washi tape*. The centre inserts, tied with Cording Trim*, are vellum which I've embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder*, I've added the word peace which has been die cut with our Christmas Greetings thinlets* and added a Snowflake Element* which I've embossed with 2 embossing powders - gold and iridescent ice.
Last pages, more of that DSP*, washi tape* and embossing folder*. Another stamp from Cup of Cheer*.
The back cover - again vellum* and glitter ribbon*, and another stamp from Cup of Cheer* .
Here are all the books together, prior to wrapping.
