Long Distance Cards

Despite frequently contacting friends online, I still think it’s so nice and so very personal to send snail mail.

My schoolfriends and I all have birthdays within a space of 2 - 3 weeks and I always make sure that they receive a handmade card in the mail, especially as one of them lives overseas.
Way back in April I made the following simple card to send. I guess I usually make something a little more girly but I still really like the final card, probably because the colour combo appeals to me.

The stamp set is Broadway Birthday. The sentiment has been heat embossed in white over a watercolour wash made with an aquapainter and reinkers.
The inside has been stamped too, along with the envelope.

More recently this same friend welcomed the arrival of her first grandchild, cause for another card to go off in the same direction. But I do have a confession, I think the child will be starting school by the time the card arrives since I didn’t make and mail it until 6 weeks after the date. Of course this wasn’t a deliberate move on my part but I am so pleased to have sent it on it’s way..... finally.
I’m sharing it here with you - a girly pink shutter card. So called because the inside opens like a camera shutter to reveal a sentiment or image. The stamp set is Fable Friends.

I do hope they liked it.
Have a super week,
Lesley
